| Program Description: The California State Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) increases the number of primary care physicians, dentists, dental hygienists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, pharmacists, and mental/behavioral health providers practicing in federally designated California Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSA). |
| Eligible Specialties: Primary care medical, dental, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, mental behavioral health, pharmacists professionals. |
| Service Requirements: Repayment of educational loans to health professionals, who in turn must commit to practice in medically underserved areas in public or non-profit entities for a minimum of two years. |
| Deadline/Application Cycle: Applications must be submitted by 3:00 p.m., September 16, 2024. |
| Amount: Health professionals may be granted up to $50,000 for a two-year initial award. |
